Arthritis is one of the most prevalent chronic health problems and the nation’s leading cause of disability among Americans. These diseases can cause severe health impairment and their impact is usually reflected in restricted activity and loss of productivity. The Orthopedic Institute’s Rheumatology Center was created to focus on the diagnosis and management of rheumatic conditions including osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, gout, lupus and osteoporosis. Our board-certified physicians provide a coordinated, comprehensive approach to each patient’s care. The Rheumatology Center’s physicians utilize conservative treatment approaches recommending physical therapy, joint and muscle strength training and weight management when appropriate. If surgery is necessary, our physicians are up-to-date on the latest medical technology and provide state-of-the-art procedures to minimize pain and restore function to patients’ lives.
