The Orthopedic Institute was founded by Dr. Houshang Seradge in 1980. Since that time, the Orthopedic Institute has grown from a single physician office to its current 55,000 square feet complex. The Orthopedic Institute consists of a multiple physician clinic in orthopedics, rheumatology, pain management, anesthesia and neurology. It also encompasses an out-patient surgery center, physical and occupational therapy center and an open MRI facility. An orthopedic hospital was added in 2005, making the Orthopedic Institute one of Oklahoma City’s most comprehensive musculoskeletal and pain management centers under one roof.
The Orthopedic Institute’s physicians are on the leading edge of their respective fields in orthopedics, rheumatology, neurology and pain management and treat all musculoskeletal conditions using the most advanced techniques. They are dedicated to helping patients return to a health lifestyle.
The Orthopedic Institute is also affiliated with the Health Research Institute (HRI). Our physicians are actively involved in innovative medical research in the areas of orthopedics, pain management and rheumatology.
The physicians at the Orthopedic Institute are dedicated to support the Oklahoma Foundation for Orthopedic Health (OFOH), which is a not-for-profit, public, 501(c)(3) organization, established in 1996. Physicians and staff provide continuing medical education (CME) lectures, workshops and conferences for health professionals. Public education on prevention has been a focus of OFOH through free public service lectures, classes, videos, internet and education materials.
The Orthopedic Institute physicians provide free surgical care to the patients who qualify through the OFOH community service program called Working Oklahomans Receive Kindness (WORK), founded by Dr. Seradge in 2001. It is designated to provide much needed orthopedic and arthritis care to medically uninsured working Oklahomans, who are not receiving government assistance.
