George S. Alhaj, M.D. Education & Certification
Dr. Alhaj earned his medical degree and pursued training in internal medicine in Lattakia, Syria. He immigrated to the U.S. in 1995 to advance his knowledge in medicine. Following graduation from medical school, Dr. Alhaj finished a general surgery internship at Cleveland Clinic Health System, Cleveland, Ohio. He then completed an anesthesiology residency at Yale University School of Medicine. After Yale, he went to Harvard Medical School and completed Interventional Pain Management and Regional Anesthesia Fellowships at Brigham & Women’s Hospital. He has served as an Assistant Professor at the University of Oklahoma Department of Anesthesia and Pain Management since January 2003. As a physician specializing in pain management and anesthesiology, Dr. Alhaj’s practice is focused on a variety of x-ray guided pain management interventions, surgical implantations for spinal cord stimulators and intrathecal pumps, as well as cancer pain management. As a member of the Orthopedic Institute team, he is committed to providing pain management and anesthesia treatment with individualized and compassionate care. Dr. Alhaj is devoted to continuing education for doctors and nurses in the field of pain assessment and advanced treatments through research, teaching and lecturing. In 2009, Dr. Alhaj was honored with lifetime membership and recognition to the Global Directory of Who’s Who for his leadership and achievements in the medical profession.
In addition to his extensive medical responsibilities Dr. Alhaj enjoys boating, computer technology, church activities, and spending time with his family. Dr. Alhaj actively supports on-going research. For more information click HERE |
