Houshang Seradge, M.D.

Dr. Seradge completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of South Florida School of Medicine. He then completed a year-long hand fellowship at the Klienert Institute in hand and microsurgery, at the University of Louisville which was dedicated to the diagnosis and surgical and nonsurgical treatment of the hand. Dr. Seradge received the honorable "top Orthopedic surgeon in the nation" award. He is a board-certified in orthopedic surgery, has added qualifications in hand surgery, and is a diplomate of the american academy of pain management. His practice is focused on non surgical and surgical treatment of neck and back, foot and ankle, knee and shoulder, hand, and arthritis. As a member of the Orthopedic Institute team, he is committed to providing advanced surgical and nonsurgical care, patient education and injury prevention recommendations to ensure each patient receives individualized, compassionate treatment. Dr. Seradge started his practice at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center as the director of the Hand surgery at the University and the Children hospitals and the chief of orthopedic surgery at the VA Hospital . Subsequently; he established the Orthopedic Institute, an independent private practice, and an international education and research foundation in Oklahoma City. He is a frequent local and international lecturer. In 1996 Dr. Seradge formed a not-for-profit foundation to focus on medical research, education and community service. In addition to practicing medicine, Dr. Seradge is constantly conducting research in order to find better treatments for orthopedic problems. Years of research led him to develop a series of exercises which have proven effective in the treatment and prevention of carpal tunnel syndrome. He has developed a surgical procedure for advanced carpal tunnel syndrome that produces better results with less recovery time. Dr. Seradge has also developed and patented an instrument for the procedure and has donated all proceeds to the Oklahoma Foundation for Orthopedic Health. His surgical and nonsurgical treatments have been featured in the New York Times, Washington Post and numerous scientific medical journals. When he is not practicing medicine or engaging in education and research, Dr. Seradge enjoys spending time with his family and his 3 grandsons. He also enjoys cycling, gardening and painting.
